Brief description of 2 surahs Al Baqarah

Surah Al Baqarah is the second and greatest surah of the Quran. It consists of 286 verses, which reveal the entire essence of Islam. It contains instructions from Allah on how a Muslim should act in a given situation, instructions that regulate all aspects of a Muslim’s life. In particular, the problems of retribution, games of gambling, drinking wine, as well as a number of issues on drawing up wills and orders in the event of death, division of property between relatives, rules of marriage and aspects of divorce, trade and repayment of debts, usury.

In Surah Al Baqarah there is a parable about the cow of the Israelites and Musa, which is why the sura is called The Cow. It also contains many stories from the lives of the Prophets; the sura emphasizes that the Quran is a guide sent by Allah. It talks about believers to whom Allah has granted His favor, and about those who have incurred the wrath of Allah with their unbelief and hypocrisy.

The Great Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: ""Do not turn your houses into graves. Shaitan flees from the house where 2 Surah Al-Baqarah is read." The importance of reading Surah Al-Baqarah is stated in the following hadith: "Read the Koran, because on the Day of Resurrection he will come and intercede for his own.Read the two blooming surahs - “al-Baqarah” and “Ali Imran”, because on the Day of Resurrection they will appear like two clouds or two flocks of birds lined up in rows, and they will intercede for your own. Read Surah al-Baqarah, because in it there is grace and abundance, and without it there is sadness and annoyance, and sorcerers cannot cope with it.”

It is especially important to read the last two verses and the verse of Al-Kursi. The importance of the Al-Kursi verse is described on the website. One of the hadiths quotes the words of the Great Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), in which he says that Allah completed Surah Al Baqarah with the last verses, which he also obtained from the treasury located under his throne. In this hadith, Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) wa sallam) encourages Muslims to read these verses, saying: “Teach (these verses) and teach (read) them to your wives and children, for (these two verses) are both prayer, and (reading) the Koran, and turning to Allah with prayer."

Aren’t these reasons enough for you to listen to this great surah of the Quran al-Baqarah, as well as read the text of its meaning in full, download and share this information with others?

Praise be to Allah, the Most High Master, in whose hand is power over everything and to whom you will be returned!

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful!

Meaning translation:

“The Messenger and the believers believed in what was sent down to him from the Lord. They all believed in Allah, His angels, His Scriptures and His messengers. They say: “We make no distinction between His messengers.” They say: “We listen and obey! We ask for Your forgiveness, our Lord, and we will arrive to You.

Meaning translation:

« Allah does not impose on a person beyond his capabilities. He will get what he has acquired, and what he has acquired will be against him. Our Lord! Don't punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place on us the burden that You placed on our predecessors. Our Lord! Don't burden us with what we can't do. Be lenient with us! Forgive us and have mercy! You are our Patron. Help us to prevail over unbelievers."

Transcription of the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah:

“Aamanar-rasulyu bimee unzilya ileikhi mir-rabbihi wal-mu'minuun, kullun aamana billahi wa malayaikyatihi wa kutubihi wa rusulihi, laya nufarrika beina ahadim-mir-rusulih, wa kaalyuyu semi'na wa ata'na, gufranakya rabbanaa wa ila ykal- masyyr. Many hadiths have reached us about the virtues of these two verses. Ibn Mas'ud reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“To anyone who read the last two verses from Surah Al-Baqarah at night. This will be enough" (Muslim).

“Whoever reads the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah at night will be protected that night from fire and other dangers.”

“Allah completed Surah Al-Baqarah with two verses and rewarded me from the treasury that is under His Highest Throne. You too will learn these verses, teach them to your wives and children. These verses can also be read as a dua.”

“Whoever reads Amana-r-rasula before going to bed will be as if he had performed a divine service until the morning.”

“Allah gave me Surah Al-Baqarah from the treasury under His Throne. This was not given to any prophet before me.”

Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “About a person who did not read the last three verses of Surah Al-Baqarah before going to bed, I cannot say that he is smart.” Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “An intelligent person will not go to bed without reading the last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah.”

Abd Allah ibn Masud said: “The Messenger of Allah to Miraj was granted three things: five times prayer, the last verse of Surah Al-Baqarah and intercession for those who died without giving Allah a partner.”

  3. God of people
  4. from the evil of the tempter who disappears at the remembrance of Allah,
  5. who whispers in the breasts of men,
  6. from genies and people

Description of Surah an-Nas

Surahs from the Koran were revealed for this humanity. From Arabic the word “an-Nas” is translated as “People”. The Almighty sent down the sura in Mecca, it contains 6 verses. The Lord turns to the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with the requirement to always resort to His help, to seek only Allah’s protection from evil. By “evil” we mean not so much the sorrows that accompany people’s earthly path, but rather the invisible evil that we commit ourselves, following the lead of our own passions, desires, and whims. The Almighty calls this evil “the evil of Shaitan”: human passions are a tempting genie who constantly tries to lead a person astray from the righteous path. Shaitan disappears only when Allah is mentioned: that is why it is so important to read and read regularly.

It must be remembered that the shaitan uses to deceive people those vices that are hidden in themselves, to which they often strive with all their souls. Only an appeal to the Almighty can save a person from the evil that lives within him.

Surah Al-Falyak

When it comes to short suras from the Koran, I immediately remember the very often read Surah Al-Falyak, incredibly powerful both in semantic and ethical senses. Translated from Arabic, “Al-Falyak” means “Dawn,” which already says a lot.

You can watch a video that will help you memorize the surah and understand how to pronounce it correctly.

Description of Surah Al-Falyak

Allah revealed Surah Dawn to the Prophet in Mecca. The prayer contains 5 verses. The Almighty, turning to His Prophet (peace be upon him), demands from him and all his followers to always seek salvation and protection from the Lord. Man will find salvation in Allah from all creatures capable of harming him. “The evil of darkness” is an important epithet that denotes the anxiety, fear and loneliness that people experience at night: a similar state is familiar to everyone. Surah “Dawn”, insha Allah, protects a person from the instigations of the devils who seek to sow hatred between people, cut off family and friendly ties, and instill envy in their souls. Prayer that Allah will save you from the wicked who has lost the mercy of Allah because of his spiritual weakness, and now seeks to plunge other people into the abyss of sin.

Surah Al-Ikhlas

A very short, easy to remember, but at the same time extremely effective and useful surah. To listen to Al-Ikhlas in Arabic, you can use video or MP3. The word "Al-Ikhlas" in Arabic means "Sincerity". The surah is a sincere declaration of love and devotion to Allah.

Transcription (phonetic sound of the sura in Russian):

Bismi-llyahi-rrahmaani-rrahhiim

  1. Kul hu Allahu ahad.
  2. Allahu s-samad.
  3. Lam yalid wa lam yulyad
  4. Valam yakullahu kufuan ahad.

Semantic translation into Russian:

  1. Say: “He is Allah alone,
  2. Allah is Self-sufficient.
  3. He did not give birth and was not born,
  4. and there is no one equal to Him.”

Description of Surah Al-Ikhlas

Allah revealed Surah “Sincerity” to the Prophet in Mecca. Al-Ikhlas contains 4 verses. Muhammad told his students that he was once mockingly asked about his attitude towards the Almighty. The answer was Surah Al-Ikhlas, which contains the statement that Allah is Self-sufficient, that He is One and Only in His perfection, that He has always been, and there is no one equal to Him in strength.

Pagans who professed polytheism turned to the Prophet (peace be upon him) with a demand to tell them about His God. The literal translation of the question they used is: “What is your Lord made of?” For paganism, a material understanding of God was common: they created idols from wood and metal, and worshiped animals and plants. The answer of Muhammad (pbuh) shocked the pagans so much that they abandoned the old faith and recognized Allah.

Many hadiths point out the benefits of Al-Ikhlas. In one article it is impossible to name all the advantages of the sura, there are so many of them. Let's list only the most important ones:

The most famous hadith says how Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) addressed people with the following question: “Isn’t each of you able to read a third of the Koran overnight?” The townspeople were amazed and asked how this was possible. The Prophet replied: “Read Surah Al-Ikhlas! It is equal to a third of the Koran." This hadith says that Surah “Sincerity” contains so much wisdom that cannot be found in any other text.

It is important to know: all these hadiths may not be reliable. Hadiths must be looked at in accordance with the Koran. If a hadith contradicts the Koran, then it should be discarded, even if it somehow managed to be inserted into collections of authentic hadiths.

Another hadith retells to us the words of the Prophet: “If a believer does this fifty times every day, then on the Day of Resurrection a voice from above will be heard over his grave: “Rise, O you who praise Allah, enter Paradise!” In addition, the Messenger said: “If a person reads Surah Al-Ikhlas a hundred times, then Allah Almighty will forgive him the sins of fifty years, provided that he does not commit four types of sins: the sin of bloodshed, the sin of acquisitiveness and hoarding, the sin of depravity and sin drinking alcohol." Reciting a surah is a work that a person does for the sake of Allah. If this work is done with diligence, the Almighty will definitely reward the person praying.

Hadiths repeatedly indicate the reward that is received for reciting Surah “Sincerity”. The reward is proportional to the number of readings of the prayer, the time spent on this. One of the most famous hadiths contains the words of the Messenger, demonstrating the incredible significance of Al-Ikhlas: “If anyone reads Surah Al-Ikhlas once, he will be overshadowed by the grace of the Almighty. Whoever reads it twice will find himself and his entire family under the shadow of grace. If someone reads it three times, then he himself, his family and his neighbors will receive grace from above. To everyone who reads it twelve times, Allah will grant twelve palaces in Paradise. Whoever reads it twenty times, he [on the Day of Judgment] will go with the prophets together like this (saying these words, the Prophet connected and raised up the middle and index fingers) To the one who reads it a hundred times, the Almighty will forgive all his sins of twenty-five years, except for the sin of bloodshed and the sin of non-repayment of debt. Whoever reads it two hundred times will have the sins of fifty years forgiven. Anyone who reads this surah four hundred times will receive a reward equal to the reward of four hundred martyrs who shed blood and whose horses were wounded in battle. Whoever reads Surah Al-Ikhlas a thousand times will not die without seeing his place in Paradise, or until it is shown to him.”

Another hadith contains some kind of recommendations for people planning to travel or already on the road. Travelers are instructed to recite Al-Ikhlas eleven times while grasping the doorposts of their home with both hands. If you do this, then the person will be protected on the way from the devils, their negative influence and attempts to instill fear and uncertainty in the soul of the traveler. In addition, reciting the surah “Sincerity” is a guarantee of a safe return to places dear to the heart.

It is important to know: no sura in itself can help a person in any way, only Allah can help a person and believers rely on Him! And many hadiths, as we see, contradict the Koran - the direct speech of Allah Himself!

There is another option for reading Surah Al-Ikhlas - in combination with Al-Nas and Al-Falak. Each prayer is said three times. Reading these three suras is protection from evil forces. As the prayer is said, it is necessary to blow on the person we want to protect. The surah is especially useful for children. If the baby is crying, screaming, kicking his legs, there are signs of the evil eye, be sure to try Al-Ikhlas, Al-Nas and Al-Falak. The effect will be more powerful if you read the surahs before going to bed.

  35. so that they eat their fruits and what they created with their own hands (or that they eat fruits that they did not create with their own hands). Won't they be grateful?
  36. Great is He who created in pairs what the earth grows, themselves and what they do not know.
  37. The sign for them is the night, which We separate from the day, and so they plunge into darkness.
  38. The sun floats to its abode. This is the decree of the Mighty, the Knowing.

  40. The sun does not have to catch up with the moon, and the night does not run ahead of the day. Everyone floats in orbit.
  41. It is a sign for them that We carried their offspring in a crowded ark.
  42. We created for them in his image what they sit on.
  43. If We wish, we will drown them, and then no one will save them, and they themselves will not be saved,
  44. unless We show them mercy and allow them to enjoy the benefits until a certain time.
  45. When they are told: “Fear what is before you and what is after you, so that you may receive mercy,” they do not answer.
  46. Whatever sign of the signs of their Lord comes to them, they certainly turn away from it.

Interesting facts about Surah Yasin

Surah Yasin Allah sent to Muhammad in Mecca. In this text, the Almighty informed the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) that he is the messenger of the Lord, and from the moment of revelation his task is to educate, teach and admonish the people vegetating in the abyss of polytheism. The surah also says about those who dare to disobey the instructions of Allah, who refuse to accept the Messenger - these unfortunate people will face severe punishment and universal censure.

The sura contains a retelling of a famous parable from the Koran. In ancient times, in the East there was a city in which pagans lived. One day, disciples of the Prophet Muhammad came to them and told them about faith and its principles. The townspeople rejected the messengers and expelled them. As punishment, Allah sent various troubles to the city.

Surah Yasin reminds us that the world was created by the Almighty and there are countless proofs of His power. Man is supposed to believe in Allah and fear Him. Retribution for sinful behavior is inevitable.

Those who believe in the Lord and recognize Muhammad as his prophet will find themselves in heaven. Hell awaits the apostates who reject the Messenger and are mute to his calls. One of the hadiths reports that Surah Yasin in Taurat is designated as “mun’imah”: this means that it contains knowledge that helps people in their earthly path and in the akhirat - that is, in the afterlife. The one who reads Surah Yasin will be spared troubles in both worlds, and the horror of akhirat (end, death) will remain unknown to him.

Another khasis says: “Whoever reads Surah Yasin only to make Allah pleased, all his previous sins will be forgiven. Therefore, recite this surah over your dead.” A Muslim who reads Yasin every day essentially dies every day, and dies like a true believer. Naturally, with so many deaths and resurrections, the fear of death becomes unknown to him.

You can download a video with a transcription of Surah Yasin into Russian, and you can listen to the prayer in its original sound in Arabic.

The colossal significance of Surah Yasin is confirmed by dozens of hadiths. One of them reports that if the surah is to be considered the heart of the Koran, its cornerstone. A believer who takes the recitation of Surah Yasin seriously can count on the help and love of Allah. The value of prayer is so high that in hadiths the recitation of Yasina is compared in its beneficial effects to reading the entire Book of Books ten times.

Another rivayast says that Allah read suras “Yasin” and “Taha” long before he created the heavens and the earth. The first to hear these sacred texts were the angels, who were amazed and said: “Happiness to the community to which this Koran will be sent down, and happiness to those hearts that will carry it, that is, learn it, and happiness to those languages that will read it.”

Another common name for Surah Yasin is “Rafi’a Hafida” or “raises up the believers”, “overthrows the unbelievers”. Let us remember the words of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him!): “My heart desires that this surah be in the heart of everyone from my community.” By reading Yasin, you can overcome fear, alleviate the condition of people who are preparing to depart to another world and who experience horror before death. The sura makes us aware of the horror that lies beyond our imagination, and opens up the only right path for a person. The one who reads Surah Yasin receives forgiveness of all sins, Allah mercifully accepts his do’a.

According to ancient tradition, believers wrote the surah on a piece of paper, then put the note in water and drank it. This simple action fills the human soul with true Light. Daily recitation of the sura is the path to the mercy of Allah, who will certainly reward a person with his blessing, send him barakah and fill his life with pleasant and good events.

Interesting Facts

Ayat Al-Kursi is included in Surah Al-Baqarah (translated from Arabic as cow). According to the account in the surah, the 255th verse. It should be said right away that many prominent theologians believe that Al-Qusri is a separate surah, and not an verse. Be that as it may, the Messenger stated that the verse is key in the Koran; it contains the most important statement that distinguishes Islam from other religions - the dogma of monotheism. In addition, the verse provides evidence of the greatness and limitless essence of the Lord. In this sacred text, Allah is called “Ismi Azam” - this name is considered the most worthy name of God.

The greatness of the verse was confirmed by many great imams. In the collection of hadiths of Al-Bukhari, the benefits of reading Al-Kursi are described as follows: “Once, when Abu Hurayrah (radiallahu 'anhu) was guarding the collected zakat, he caught a thief who said to him: “Let me go and I will teach you these words which Allah will make useful for you!” Abu Hurayrah (radhiallahu 'anhu) asked: “What are these words?” He said: “When you go to bed, read “Ayat al-Kursi” from beginning to end, and a guardian from Allah will always be with you, and Satan will not be able to approach you until the morning!” Abu Hurayrah heeded these words and went with them to the Prophet. In response to the story of his student, the Prophet said: “He really told you the truth, despite the fact that he is a notorious liar!” And the Messenger informed Abu Hurair that the thief he had caught was none other than the Shaitan, who had taken on human form.

Another hadith recalls: “When Ayatul-Kursi was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), the Angel Jibraeel, surrounded by 70 thousand angels, conveyed this verse, saying that “Whoever sincerely reads it will receive a reward as for 70 years of service to the Almighty. And the one who reads Ayatul-Kursi before leaving the house will be surrounded by 1000 angels who will pray for his forgiveness.”

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, has repeatedly said that reading Al-Kursi is equivalent in its influence to reading ¼ of the Koran.

The most important purpose of the verse is to protect believers from those who trade in theft. If the verse is recited before entering a room, all the devils will run away from the house. When we read Al-Kursi over food or drink, we “charge” the food with blessing. Clothes illuminated by the light of a unique verse will be protected from thieves and the influence of the shaitan. A person who pronounces “Al-Kursi” protects himself from the tricks of the genies all day long.

The Quran says that for those who recite the verse after committing obligatory prayer, a place in Paradise has already been prepared, and it is separated from the heavenly booths only by the need to complete earthly existence. The verse “Al-Kursi” and the last lines of the famous surah “Al-Bakara” are perfectly combined. If you read these two texts one after another, your appeal to the Lord will definitely be heard.

On our website you can download a video with the verse, watch it and learn pronunciation. You need to read the sacred text from 33 to 99 times a day. To protect against jinns, the ayah is read three times before going to bed. Al-Kursi is especially effective in cases where disturbing dreams are dreamed.

It is important to know: you should not read the Koran loudly in a chant, much less compete in it - otherwise, while you listen to such melodies, you will fall into a trance and will not understand the most important thing - the meaning that Allah conveyed to humanity for observing the Koran and reflecting on Its verses.

Surah Al-Baqarah

- the second and most voluminous in the Qur'an. The sacred text contains 286 verses that reveal the very essence of religion. The surah contains the teachings of Allah, the Lord's instructions to Muslims, a description of how they should behave in different situations. In general, we can say that Surah Al-Bakara is a text that regulates the entire life of a believer. The document talks about almost everything: about revenge, about the distribution of inheritance between the relatives of the deceased, about the consumption of alcoholic beverages, about playing cards and dice. Much attention is paid to issues of marriage and divorce, the trading side of life, and relationships with debtors.

From the Arabic language "Al-Baqara" is translated as "Cow". This name is associated with a parable that is given in the sura. The parable tells about the Israelite cow and Moses, peace be upon him. In addition, the text contains many stories about the life of the Prophet and his followers. Al-Baqarah directly states that the Quran is a guide in the life of a Muslim, which is given to him by the Almighty. In addition, the surah contains a mention of believers who have received favor from Allah, as well as those who have angered the Almighty with disobedience and a tendency to disbelief.

Let us remember the words of the Great Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Do not turn your houses into graves. Shaitan flees from the house where Surah al-Baqarah is being recited. This exceptionally high assessment of Surah “Cow” allows us to consider it the most important in the Koran. The enormous importance of the sura is emphasized by another hadith: “Read the Koran, because on the Day of Resurrection he will come and intercede for his own. Read the two blossoming suras - suras “al-Baqarah” and “Ali Imran”, because on the Day of Resurrection they will appear like two clouds or two flocks of birds lined up in rows and will intercede for their own. Read Surah al-Baqarah, because in it there is grace and abundance, and without it there is sadness and annoyance, and sorcerers cannot cope with it.”

In Surah Al-Baqarah, the last 2 verses are considered the main ones:

  • 285. The messenger and the believers believed in what was sent down to him from the Lord. They all believed in Allah, His angels, His Scriptures and His messengers. They say: “We make no distinction between His messengers.” They say: “We listen and obey! We ask for Your forgiveness, our Lord, and we will arrive to You.
  • 286. Allah does not impose on a person beyond his capabilities. Help us to prevail over unbelieving people.

In addition, the surah contains the verse “Al-Kursi”, which we cited above. Great meaning and the incredible importance of Al-Kursi has been repeatedly emphasized by leading theologians, citing famous hadiths. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, calls on Muslims to be sure to read these verses, learn them, teach them to their family members, wives and children. After all, the last two verses of “Al-Baqara” and “Al-Kursi” are a direct appeal to the Almighty.

Interesting facts about Surah Al-Fatihah

Undoubtedly, Surah Al-Fatihah is the greatest Surah of the Quran. This is confirmed by the epithets that are commonly used to designate this unique text: “Opener of the Book,” “Mother of the Koran,” etc. The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him!) repeatedly pointed out the special significance and value of this surah. For example, the Prophet said the following: “Whoever has not read the Opening Book (i.e., Surah al-Fatihah) has not prayed.” In addition, the following words belong to him: “Whoever makes a prayer without reading the Opening Book in it, then it is not complete, not complete, not complete, not finished.” In this hadith Special attention The threefold repetition of the word “not complete” is striking. The Prophet designed the phrase in such a way as to enhance the impact on the listener, to emphasize that without reading Al-Fatiha, the prayer may not reach the Almighty.

Every Muslim should know that Surah Al-Fatiha is an indispensable element of prayer. The text fully deserves the honor of being placed before any sura of the Koran. “Al-Fatiha” is the most read surah in the Islamic world; verses from it are recited constantly and in each of the rakats.

One of the hadiths claims that the Almighty will reward the person who reads Surah Al-Fatihah to the same extent as the person who reads 2/3 of the Quran. Another hadith quotes the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him!): “I received 4 things from the special treasures of the Arsh (Throne), from which no one has ever received anything. These are Surah “Fatiha”, “Ayatul Kursi”, the last verses of Surah “Bakara” and Surah “Kausar”. The colossal significance of Surah Al-Fatiha is emphasized by the following hadith: “Four times Iblis had to grieve, cry and tear out his hair: the first when he was cursed, the second when he was driven from heaven to earth, the third when the Prophet (sallallahu ' Alaihi wa sallam) received the fourth prophecy when Surah Fatihah was revealed.”

“Muslim Sharif” contains one very revealing hadith, which quotes the words of the Great Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Today one of the doors of heaven opened, which had never been opened before. And from it came down one angel who had never before descended. And the angel said: “Receive the good news about two nours that have never been given to anyone before you. One is Surah Fatihah, and the second is the end of Surah Baqarah (the last three verses).”

What attracts attention in this hadith first of all? Of course, the fact that the suras “Fatiha” and “Bakara” are called “nurs” in it. Translated from Arabic, this word means “light”. On the Day of Judgment, when Allah will judge people for their earthly path, the read suras will become a light that will attract the attention of the Almighty and allow Him to separate the righteous from the sinners.

Al-Fatihah is ismi A'zam, that is, a text that should be read in any situation. Even in ancient times, doctors noticed that the sura written in rose oil on the bottom of porcelain dishes made the water extremely healing. The patient needs to be given water for 40 days. In a month he will feel relief, God willing. To improve the condition of toothache, headache, and stomach cramps, the surah must be read exactly 7 times.

Peace, Mercy and Blessings of Allah Almighty be upon you

And remind, for reminding benefits the believers. (Quran, 51:55)

Surah Baqarah is the second and largest chapter in the Holy Scripture. It was revealed in Medina after the emigration of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Its name literally translates as “Cow”. This greatest sura received this name thanks to the legend about the prophet Musa and the cow slaughtered by the sons of Israel. It is truly called the essence of Islam, as it contains many signs and edifications for humanity, parables of the prophets, as well as injunctions regarding the basic rites of Islam. The verses of this surah are replete with metaphors of the great Arabic language and allow you to feel the powerful energy of the Holy Scripture. It is enough that the verse of Al-Kursi is part of this surah.

Mysterious letters

The chapter of Al Baqarah begins with three letters of the Arabic alphabet: Alif, Lam, Mim. In Arabic, the 28 letters and 29 surahs of the Qur'an begin with different combinations of letters. For many centuries, Islamic scholars have been trying to unravel the secret and meaning of these combinations. Many hypotheses have been put forward, both by Arab scientists and their Western colleagues. But since there are no detailed references or explanations about this circumstance either in the Holy Book or in the sunnah of the noble prophet, this truth will remain a mystery until doomsday. Of course, there is some kind of symbolism hidden in this, known only to the Creator and still completely misunderstood by humanity. Modern Muslims have the opportunity to listen for free to a beautiful reading of this and other surahs from such well-known readers throughout the Islamic world as Mishari Rashid and Sheikh Sudais, the imam of the Holy Mosque in Mecca.

Parables of Surah Al-Baqarah

The first verse of the greatest chapter of the Holy Scripture states that this book was revealed to true Muslims who fear Allah and seek His pleasure. Thus Allah warns the disbelievers and hypocrites. And calls a person to worship: “Oh people! Serve your Lord, who created you and those before you from nothingness, so that you may beware!” (Surah al-Baqarah, verse 21).

From the 30th verse of this surah, the story of the creation of Adam (peace be upon him!) and his companion begins. The Almighty reports that man was originally created in order to become His vicegerent on earth: “And so your Lord said to the angels: “I will establish a vicegerent on earth.” Next we learn about how Satan deceived them and became the reason for the expulsion of the first people from Paradise to earth.

In verse 50 of the chapter of Al-Baqarah, Allah reminds believers of the miracle that, by the will of the Almighty, happened to the sons of Israel when they escaped from the cruel Pharaoh and his army. Then Musa (peace be upon him!) with one wave of his staff divided the sea into two halves and his people received a path of salvation. Along this path, Musa and the sons of Israel crossed to the other side of the sea, and Pharaoh and his army were drowned by the will of the Almighty. This sign, like many others, was sent down to Musa as proof of his messenger chosenness, for example: twelve springs of water, varied food in the desert, reviving the dead. And finally we come to the story that gives the entire sura its name, the story of the sacrificial cow. Verse 67 says: “Verily Allah commands you to slaughter a cow.” Unfortunately, Musa's people did not obey the command of their Creator, but cunningly inquired about the signs of the cow that was to be sacrificed. But Allah revealed their deceitful intent: “And so you (oh, descendants of Israel) killed a soul and argued about it, and Allah brings out what you hid.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 72). Thus, Allah warns people against lies and deceit, informing them that there is nothing unknown to the Creator of heaven and earth!

In addition to the stories listed above, the text of the chapter of Al-Baqarah contains many other parables. For example, it mentions the angels Harut and Marut, who taught magic to the inhabitants of Babylon. And also here we learn about Ibrahim’s conversation with his people, which he convinced that Allah is the only true Creator.

The greatest sura contains reminders and signs for the understanding part of humanity, such as: the creation of heaven and earth, the change of day and night, the falling of rains, the change of seasons, the existence of wind, the movement of clouds and many other signs that help believers to realize the greatness of our Creator and become His a grateful slave. Every Muslim should strive to regularly read Surah Al-Baqarah, as well as its tafsir, for a deeper understanding of the meaning of the revelations of the Almighty.

Legal aspects in Surah Al-Baqarah

The second sura of the Holy Scripture abounds not only in the lives of the prophets. It also contains many regulations and rules relating to various areas of a Muslim’s life. In it we will find a ban on the consumption of carrion, blood, pork and any other meat that is not slaughtered in the name of the Almighty. It also reports on Allah’s commands regarding wine and gambling.

This surah also describes in detail the conditions for marriage and divorce, the rules of inheritance in the event of the death of close relatives. It is important to note that in Islam, for the first time since the existence of mankind, women are given the right to inherit. And their share is specifically enshrined in the verses of the Koran.

Much attention is paid in this chapter to Ramadan and the rules of fasting. Allah points to high value this month among Muslims (as the month in which the revelation of the Qur'an began).

The meaning of life examples in the Qur'an

As we see, Allah gives many parables, biographies of prophets, examples from the lives of ancient people. What's the point of this? Islamic scholars believe that the wisdom of all the stories and examples given in the Koran is to encourage a person to reflect on the universe, on the meaning of his life. The Almighty says this in the Quran: “Such parables We bring people to think” (Surah al-Hashr, verse 21). And this is the greatest wisdom of the Creator and His mercy to man! Thus, a true believer has the opportunity to come to the truth as a result of his reflections, but the wicked during such reflections only strengthen their delusions, not understanding the true meaning of the parables and stories of the Koran. And what is noteworthy is that the Creator does not hesitate to cite even such seemingly insignificant creatures as mosquitoes or spiders as instructive examples. But truly, everything has its own wisdom and meaning!

To correctly understand the examples and parables of the Holy Scripture, every Muslim should try not only to read more of the Holy Scripture, but also to study the tafsirs of the heavenly book of authoritative Islamic scholars. One of them is Abd ar-Rahman bin Nasir al-Saadi (may Allah have mercy on him), who completed his multi-volume work on the interpretation of the Quran, “Relief from the Generous and Merciful” in 1344 AH. This collection is one of the deeply scientific, widely accepted and accepted interpretations of the Holy Scriptures by the Islamic Ummah. You can listen to his mp3 recording without being distracted from worldly affairs, in the car, on the subway, at work, or just walking down the street.

Sad events

The two hundred and eighty-first verse of Al-Baqara was revealed last shortly before the death of our noble prophet. This happened in the tenth year of the Hijri, after the messenger returned to Medina after his Farewell Pilgrimage. One day, the prophet, being terminally ill, called the believers to a Farewell Sermon. And I read this verse to them: " Fear the day when you will be returned to Allah. Then each person will receive in full what he has acquired, and they will not be treated unfairly." (Surah al-Baqarah, verse 281). At that moment, many Medinans began to cry, experiencing deep sadness and grief for their prophet.

Virtues of Al-Baqarah

According to the sunnah, this surah has the property of scaring away the devils. Therefore, if a believer wants to rid his home of these, he just needs to find and download a recording of this great sura on the World Wide Web. The importance of the last 2 verses of Surah Al-Baqarah

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever read the last two verses from Surah Al-Baqarah at night.

“Whoever reads “Amana-r-rasula” before going to bed will be as if he had performed a divine service until the morning.”

Abd Allah ibn Masud said: “The Messenger of Allah to Miraj was granted three things: prayer five times a day, the last verse of Surah Al-Baqarah and intercession for those who died without ascribing partner to Allah.”

Interpretation of al-Saadi

An authentic hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) states that reading these two verses at night is enough to protect oneself from evil, and the reason for this is their glorious meaning.

In one of the previous verses of this surah, Allah called on people to believe in all the basic provisions of the Muslim religion: “Say: “We believe in Allah, and also in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishak (Isaac), Yaqub (Jacob) and the tribes (the twelve sons of Yaqub), what was given to Musa (Moses) and Isa (Jesus) and what was given to the prophets by their Lord. We make no distinction between them, and to Him alone we submit” (2:136). And in this revelation He said that the Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the believers believed in these provisions of the religion, believed in all the messengers and in all the scriptures. They were not like those who accept one part of the Scripture and reject another, or accept some messengers but reject others. Indeed, this is what the misguided followers of distorted creeds do.

The mention of the believers along with the mention of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is a great honor for them. This indicates that the religious injunctions relating to the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) apply to his followers. He fulfilled these instructions in the most perfect manner and surpassed in this field all other faithful believers and even other messengers of God. Then Allah reported that the believers say: “We listen and obey! Lord, forgive us, because we have to return to You.” They undertake to adhere to everything that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) brought in the Quran and Sunnah. They listen to religious laws, accepting them with all their souls and submitting to them with their whole bodies, and their words are filled with humility before Allah and imply a request to help them in fulfilling religious duties and to forgive them the omissions made in fulfilling obligatory instructions and the sins they have committed. They humbly turn to Allah with a prayer that benefits them, and Allah Almighty has already answered it by saying through the mouth of His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “I have already done it!”

Allah necessarily accepts these prayers from the faithful as a whole and accepts them from individual believers if there are no factors preventing the prayer from being accepted. Allah does not hold Muslims accountable for things they do by mistake or forgetfulness. He has made Muslim Sharia extremely easy and does not burden Muslims with the burdens and obligations that were so burdensome for previous religious communities. Allah did not order them to perform duties beyond their capabilities, forgave them their sins, had mercy on them and granted them victory over the unbelievers.

We ask Allah Almighty, through His beautiful names and qualities and through the mercy He showed us when He taught us to follow the injunctions of His religion, to bring these prayers to life for us, to fulfill the promise made by the mouth of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and put in order the affairs of all devout Muslims. From this revelation important rules emerge. According to the first of them, religious duties should be eased and Muslims should be freed from embarrassment in all matters of religion. Another rule teaches that a person deserves forgiveness if, while performing rites of worship, he violated his duties to Allah by mistake or forgetfulness. If, for these reasons, he violated his duties to the creatures, then he does not deserve humiliation and censure. However, he is responsible if his mistake or forgetfulness resulted in the death of people or property, because a person does not have the right to encroach on people’s lives or property, either intentionally, or by mistake, or by forgetfulness.

Hazrat Babafariduddin Janj (Rahmatullah 'alaih) reported that “When Ayat al-Kursi was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), the Angel Jibraeel ('alaihis-salaam), surrounded by 70 thousand angels, conveyed this verse, saying , that “Whoever sincerely reads it will receive a reward for 70 years of service to the Almighty. And the one who reads Ayat al-Kursi before leaving home will be surrounded by 1000 angels who will pray for his forgiveness.”

A person reading this verse is under the protection of the most majestic angels of the Almighty.

The reader of Ayat al-Kursi will be protected from the evil of the jinn from morning to evening and from evening to morning.

Ayat al-Kursi is equal to a quarter of the Holy Quran.

Whoever reads Ayat al-Kursi before going to bed will be under the protection of two angels until the morning.

Whoever on Fridays, preferably in solitude, reads Ayat al-Kursi 70 times after the Al-Asr prayer (the third in a row), will begin to see the inner spiritual light, and every dua made at this moment will be accepted by Allah.

Before any test that a person has to experience, be it a meeting with negative people or another danger in the form of a natural disaster, etc. Ayat al-Kursi should be read.

“I cannot understand those Muslims who do not read Ayat al-Kursi before going to bed. If you only knew how great this verse is, you would never neglect to read Ayat al-Kursi, because it was given to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from the treasuries of Al-Arsh. Ayat al-Kursi was not revealed to any of the Prophets before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). And I never go to bed without first reading Ayat al-Kursi.”

The last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow)

Rejoice in the good news of the two lights given to you (by Allah), which were not given to any of the prophets before you.

Ayat 285: Aamanar-rasuulu bima-aaaa unnzilya ilyayhyi mir-rabbihyi val mu-minuun, kullun aamana billyahyi wa mala-yayayaya-ikatihii va kutubihyi wa rusulihyi la nufarrikyu beina ahadim-mir-rusulihyi, wa kaalyu yu sami-''-naa va a-t'a-''-na, gufraanakya rabbanaa va i-laikal masyyr.

“The Prophet [Muhammad] believed in [the truth and veracity of what] was sent down to him from the Lord [and this is the Holy Scripture, and prophetic revelations, and the messenger mission itself], and the believers [also believed]. Everyone [who was able to believe] believed in God [the Only Creator, Lord of the Worlds], in His angels, His Scriptures [Torah, Gospel, Koran and everything that was sent down from the Most High throughout human history] and the messengers of God /213/ . We do not divide between messengers. [From the point of view of Islam, there are no bad and good, recognized and unrecognized messengers.] And they (believers) said: “We heard [Divine edifications transmitted through the Prophet] and submitted. We ask You to forgive our sins, O Lord, for to You is our return. [After the End of the World, we will all be resurrected and return, we will appear before You to answer for our deeds in Judgment Square].”

“Allah does not place on the soul anything that is greater than its strength (capabilities). In her favor is what she has done [of good], and against her what she has done [of bad. The soul is not responsible for various kinds of fleeting thoughts, and especially for the sins of others]. Oh my God! Do not punish for what is forgotten or done by mistake. [We strive to ensure that we do not forget what is important, and that we do not make mistakes in our choices.] Do not place a burden (heaviness) on us, just as You laid it on those who came before us. Don't charge us with a duty that we cannot do. Forgive us [what is between us and You, our sins and mistakes], forgive us [what is between us and other people, do not reveal to them our shortcomings and mistakes] and have mercy on us [in everything that awaits in the future] . You are our Patron, help us [in confrontation] with people who deny You [with those who have forgotten about faith and advocate the destruction of morality, ethics, life values and holy postulates].”

Ibn Abbas reported: “When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was sitting with (the angel) Jibril (peace be upon him), he heard a creaking sound above him. Jibril, peace be upon him, looked up and said: “This (sound) is from the gate that was opened today in heaven and has never been opened before.”. Then an angel came down through the gate. Jibril, peace be upon him, said: “This angel who descended to earth has never descended before.”.

He (i.e. the descending angel) approached the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), greeted him and said: “Rejoice at the good news of the two lights given to you (by Allah), which were not given to any of the prophets before you . (These are) Surah Al-Fatihah and the last two verses from Surah Al-Baqarah. For every word you read in them, you will be given a reward." Hadith narrated by Muslim.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah wrote a scroll two thousand years before He created the heavens and the Earth, which is kept near (His) Throne. He revealed two verses from it with which He concluded Surah Al Baqarah. If they are read in a house for three nights in a row, then the Shaitan will not approach it (i.e. the house).” The hadith is reported by Ahmad in Al-Musnad.

Ibn Masood reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Anyone who reads the last two verses from Surah Al Baqarah at night, this will be enough for him.”. Hadith narrated by Muslim.

It is reported from the words of Abu Dharra, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Allah completed Surah “The Cow” with two verses and gave them to me, taking (these verses) from the treasury that is under (His) throne. Teach (these verses) and teach (read) them to your wives and children, for (these two verses) are both prayer, and (reading) the Quran, and turning to Allah with a prayer.”

Allah does not impose on a person beyond his capabilities. Help us to prevail over unbelieving people.

TAFSEER OF SHAYKH 'ABD AR-RAHMAN AS-SA'DI

In an authentic hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, it is reported that reading these two verses at night for a Muslim is enough to protect himself from evil, and the reason for this lies in the glorious meaning of these revelations. In the first verses of this surah, Allah called people to believe in all the basic provisions of the Muslim religion and commanded:

“Say: “We believe in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the tribes (the twelve sons of Jacob), that was given to Musa (Moses) and Isa (Jesus) and what was given to their prophets by the Lord. We make no distinction between them, and to Him alone we submit” (2:136).

And in this revelation, Allah said that the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and the believers believed in all the basic tenets of the religion, believed in all the messengers and all the scriptures and did not become like those who recognize part of the scripture and reject another part of it or recognize some messengers and reject others, because this is what misguided followers of distorted creeds do.

The mention of the faithful along with the mention of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is a great honor for the faithful Muslims. This also indicates that the religious instructions relating to him apply to his followers, that he carried them out in the most perfect manner and surpassed in this field all other believers and even all other messengers of God.

Then Allah reported that the believers say: “We listen and obey! Lord, forgive us, because we have to return to You.” They undertake to adhere to everything that the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, brought in the Qur'an and Sunnah. They listen to religious injunctions, accepting them with all their souls and submitting to them with their whole bodies, and their words are filled with humility before Allah and imply a request to help them in fulfilling religious duties and to forgive them the omissions made in fulfilling obligatory injunctions and the sins they have committed. They humbly turn to Allah with a prayer that benefits them, and Allah Almighty has already answered this prayer by saying through the mouth of His Prophet: “I have already done it!”

Allah necessarily accepts these prayers from the faithful as a whole and accepts them from individual believers if there are no factors preventing the prayer from being accepted. Allah does not hold Muslims accountable for actions they commit by mistake or forgetfulness. He has made Muslim Sharia extremely easy and does not burden Muslims with the burdens and obligations that were so burdensome for previous religious communities. Allah did not order them to perform duties that exceeded their capabilities, forgave them their sins, had mercy on them and granted them victory over unbelievers.

We ask Allah Almighty, through His beautiful names and qualities and through the mercy He showed us when He taught us to follow the injunctions of His religion, to bring these prayers to life for us, to fulfill the promise made by the mouth of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and bring order to the affairs of all devout Muslims.

From this revelation follows important rule, according to which religious duties should be facilitated and Muslims should be freed from embarrassment in all religious matters, as well as another rule, according to which a person deserves forgiveness if, while performing rites of worship, he violated his duties to Allah by mistake or forgetfulness. If, for these reasons, he violated his duties to the creatures, then he does not deserve humiliation and censure. However, he is responsible if his mistake or forgetfulness resulted in the death of people or property, because a person has no right to encroach on the lives or property of people, either intentionally, or by mistake, or by forgetfulness.

The Messenger and the believers believed in what was sent down to him from the Lord. Everyone believed in Allah, His angels, His scriptures, His Messengers, without making any distinction between His prophets. They say [at the same time]: “We have heard and we obey! In Your [power] to forgive, our Lord, to You we return. Allah asks everyone only to the best of their ability. Good deeds benefit him, evil deeds harm him.” [The believers say]: “Our Lord! Don't punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place on us the burdens that you placed on previous generations. Our Lord! Don't put on us what we can't do. Have pity, forgive us and have mercy, You are our Lord. So help us against the disbelieving people” (2:285-286).

Many hadiths have reached us about the virtues of these two verses. Ibn Mas'ud reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Anyone who reads the last two verses from Surah Al-Baqarah at night will have enough”(Muslim).

“Whoever reads the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah at night will be protected that night from fire and other dangers.”

“Allah completed Surah Al-Baqarah with two verses and rewarded me from the treasury that is under His Highest Throne. You will also learn these verses, teach them to your wives and children. These verses can also be read as du’a.”

“Whoever reads Amana-r-rasula before going to bed will be as if he had performed a divine service until the morning.”.

“For one who reads the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah in the evening, this is equivalent to evening prayer.”.

“Allah gave me Surah Al-Baqarah from the treasury under His Throne. This was not given to any prophet before me.".
