GTA: San Andreas characters. Computer games
Any time (but not during a mission). When the character is not being played, he goes about his daily affairs. Some missions in GTA 5 require only one character, some require two, and on some missions three heroes go at once. Michael De Santa

Carl Johnson (CJ)

Officer Frank Tenpenny
Frank Tenpenny is one of two corrupt Los Santos police officers who are trying in every possible way to ruin Karl's life. He is distinguished by his particular cruelty and disregard for everything except the criminal empire he created. Tenpenny is officially the head of C.R.A.S.H. - Department for Combating Organized Crime. Unofficially, he is engaged in underground business: racketeering, drug trafficking, bribery of officials, violence. Another cop helps him in this - officer Eddie Pulaski.
Officer Eddie Pulaski
Officer Pulaski is the second in command of C.R.A.S.H, and it is he who helps Frank Tenpenny run his shadow business. He hates Karl fiercely, which, however, does not prevent him from collaborating with the “boss”. Their latest operation is the murder of Detective Pendelbury, who was trying to lead the criminal couple to clean water. It was this corpse that the corrupt cops “hung” on Carl Johnson.

Officer Jimmy Hernandez
Jimmy is a new employee of the C.R.A.S.H department. He strived to be an honest cop, but Pulaski and Tenpenny also involved him in their dirty deeds. Hernandez disagrees with his bosses' methods, but keeps his mouth shut. At the end of the game it will still count towards him.
He is also "Farley", the head of the Red Gecko Tong, one of the largest triads in San Fierro. Ra Fan Ly's main enemies are the Vietnamese bandits from The Da Nang Boys, who have already managed to destroy one of the triads and are now targeting Red Gecko Tong. However, Farley also has ill-wishers among his allies...
Also known by the nickname "Susie". Another person from the triads, the right hand of Wu Zi Mu. Su Zi Mu runs a bookmaker's office in San Fierro Chinatown. Jeffery "OG Loc" Martin
Young rapper and member of the OGF gang. Jeffrey’s criminal career can hardly be called solid, but he has already been to prison. We first met Kent in GTA: Vice City. After leaving the City of Vice, Paul moved to San Andreas, became addicted to drugs, and now he often takes doses in the company of his friend Macker. Like other games in the series Grand Theft Auto, many of the characters were voiced by crime movie veterans like Pulp Fiction's Samuel L. Jackson and Frank Vincent. Prominent West Coast rappers such as MC Eiht, Ice T, Kid Frost and The Game also provide the voices for some of the game's characters.
Central characters
Carl "CJ" Johnson
First appears in: "Introduction"(airport scene).
Carl Johnson nicknamed “CJ” (CJ, short for his name, English Carl Johnson) is the main character of the game. One of the leaders of the African-American street gang "Grove Street Families" in the city of Los Santos. After the death of his younger brother Brian in 1987, Carl leaves Los Santos and moves to Liberty City. There he works for Joey, the son of mafia don Salvatore Leone. In 1992, Karl returned to hometown, having learned from his older brother Sweet about the murder of his mother. CJ decides to stay on the West Coast and the game's plot centers on his attempts to rebuild the life he left behind five years ago. Carl helps restore his old gang, the Grove Street Families, to their former power. He also works for several independent business ventures and makes new friends and partners. As the main character, Carl is forced to deal with major dramatic events, including the arrest and imprisonment of his brother Sweet, and the betrayal of childhood friends Big Smoke and Ryder.

Shawn "Sweet" Johnson

Shawn "Sweet" Johnson is the older brother of Carl, Brian and Kendle Johnson. He is one of the leaders and founding fathers of the African-American street gang Grove Street. Lives in a one-story house, very close to the Johnsons' house in Ganton. Sweet also has an unnamed girlfriend who appears in only one mission - "Sweet's Girl". Sweet believed that the murder of their younger brother Brian was Carl's fault, which forced CJ to leave Los Santos. Compared to Carl, Big Smoke and Ryder, Sweet's approach to gangsterism is more philosophical and socially conscious.
Throughout the story, Sweet remains loyal to his family, gang, and neighborhood. He refuses to allow hard drugs to be distributed in the area, much to the disapproval of his right-hand man, Big Smoke. Several times, including in "The Introduction", Sweet says that he is a gangster for the block, which contradicts the beliefs of Big Smoke, who later in the story leaves for money and drugs, and Ryder, who wants personal glory. Although Sweet never says exactly what it means to be for the neighborhood, his actions suggest that he views the gang as a way for the people in his neighborhood to compensate for their lack of legal opportunities that they would not otherwise receive. He also uses the gang to improve the quality of life in Ganton, especially when he drives out crack addicts and drug dealers; a little later in the game, he refuses to leave Grove Street, even when Carl has become rich and has acquired much better places for himself.
After his first return to Los Santos (at the beginning of the game), Carl assists Sweet in restoring the Grove Street Family Gang to its former glory. Sweet begins to forget old grudges and decides that Carl has earned his chance to redeem himself. However, despite Carl almost single-handedly putting the Grove Family Gang back on the map, Big Smoke and Ryder had already betrayed the gang. During a meeting between various gangs of families from this gang, the police suddenly raid the hotel where the meeting is taking place. Carl saves his brother and they escape from the cops, but a little later Sweet is ambushed by the Ballas gang under a huge bridge in the Mulholland area. His injuries leave him unable to defend himself when Carl arrives and fights off the attackers, but the police surround and arrest them both while the Ballas Gang and Grove Street Families escape. The retinue is imprisoned indefinitely, and Carl is released to carry out assignments for Officer Tenpenny.
Carl later encounters Mike Toreno, a government agent who uses threats against Sweet to force Carl to work for him. As long as Carl cooperates with him, Sweet will be protected and, as Toreno promises, eventually freed. If Karl makes a mistake, or refuses to work for Toreno, then Sweet will be forced to face his enemies one-on-one with his fellow prisoners.
Sweet's words finally reach Carl, and slowly but surely the two restore Grove's dominance in the area once again. At first it seems useless; There is a legion of drug dealers, and all of Sweet's people are addicted to drugs. Sweet almost gives in and picks up the crack pipette, but Carl stops him at the very last moment. With Carl's help, Grove forces the Ballas to retreat back and reveal Big Smoke's secret location.
Following the death of Big Smoke and a devastating fire in his drug palace, Officer Tenpenny escapes in a fire truck. Sweet refuses to let Tenpenny escape retribution for once again plunging the city into the abyss of crime and drug addiction; he jumps onto the truck's ladder and is carried away by the speeding car. Carl follows him in a convertible under the stairs to prevent Sweet from falling to his death; After a dangerous ride through the hills and valleys of Los Santos, the swinging ladder finally hovers over the car and Sweet falls safely onto the hood of the convertible, then sits in the passenger seat. After a long pursuit, Tenpenny loses control, gets into an accident and dies. After a major riot in Los Santos and the death of Big Smoke and Tenpenny, Sweet's goal is to restore the gang's former power and achieve better life for residents of your block - completed.
Sweet, 27, has a light blue Greenwood sedan with a "Grove 4 life" license plate that you can always use. In one mission, Greenwood explodes after flying through a billboard onto a fuel tanker. After leaving prison, Sweet buys an identical car to replace it and says: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. In the beta version of GTA San Andreas, Sweet wore a black T-shirt and a black hat; his appearance was changed in the final alpha version (however, Sweet in his old form can be seen in photographs in the Johnson house).

Kendle Johnson

Kendle Johnson is the sister of Carl, Brian and Shawn Johnson. Kendle is the lover of Cesar Vialpando, leader of the Varrios Los Aztecas gang. Because of this, he often quarrels with Sweet. Scene in "The Introduction": He seems to believe what he says, but in reality, Tenpenny and his gang are corrupt and terrorize the gang leaders as much as the gangs themselves. Officer Frank Tenpenny to Officer Jimmy Hernandez: “You're going to kill him (Officer Ralph Pendelbury)! Or I'll kill you! (Scene in "The Introduction"). Tenpenny is constantly in the company of Pulaski and the third member of C.R.A.S.H. Prior to the game's story, this third member was Ralph Pendelbury, who was killed by Tenpenny in The Introduction for attempting to investigate his activities. Shortly before Pendelbury's murder, Tenpenny and Pulaski take in rookie officer Jimmy Hernandez in a scene reminiscent of the film Training Day. They both force Hernandez to kill Pendelbury, thus introducing him to their stinking deeds.
Tenpenny has known CJ at least since Brian Johnson's death, and CJ recognizes Tenpenny and calls him by name from the very beginning of the game. Tenpenny has great power and influence over the criminals of Los Santos. To him, CJ is like another tool in dirty business dealings. He and Pulaski blackmail several members of the Grove Street Family gang, including Big Smoke and Ryder, but Tenpenny seems to take some pleasure in controlling CJ.
Although Tenpenny claims that he is fighting gangs in order to eliminate them all, he is actually on the side of the Ballas, who (unlike Grove Street) have nothing against selling cocaine. C.R.A.S.H. allows the Ballas to flood the city with drugs, which turns many of the groove members into drug addicts, effectively weakening their gang. Tenpenny also convinces Smoke to betray the gang in exchange for control of drug deals. Tenpenny and Pulaski are responsible for the drive-by that killed Beverly Johnson, C.J.'s mother. When C.J. returns for the funeral, C.R.A.S.H. pins Pendelbury's murder on him and threatens him with arrest if he does not carry out Tenpenny's instructions.
Later, Frank Tenpenny and Eddie Pulaski kidnap Carl Johnson after a big gangster hit, under a huge bridge in the Mulholland area of Los Santos. Sweet, wounded in the shootout, was arrested and later charged with several felonies. Frank Tenpenny ensures that Carl doesn't get arrested so he can do C.R.A.S.H.'s dirty work. They take Carl Johnson to the village of Angel Pine, and leave him there, with orders to kill a witness on Mount Chiliad, near this village, from the FBI. Tenpenny also tells Carl, who now knows about Smoke's relationship with C.R.A.S.H., not to kill Smoke or Sweet will be placed in a prison block with the Ballas. Carl is often processed by Tenpenny and Pulaski and is usually ordered to kill or discredit anyone who threatens to reveal the true nature of C.R.A.S.H. With Smoke now a big deal in the city of Los Santos due to his crack cocaine being controlled by C.R.A.S.H., Tenpenny's reach is expanding. Despite this, the FBI begins to investigate a wave of drugs crippling the city. Carl finally realizes his independence from Tenpenny and Pulaski when he arrives in Las Venturas. C.R.A.S.H. they call Carl to the desert, meet him there, Tenpenny hits Hernandez on the head with a shovel because he reported them to the internal investigations department of the Los Santos Police Department. He leaves, leaving Carl to dig a grave for Hernandez under Pulaski's supervision. Carl later kills Eddie Pulaski.
Tenpenny himself is eventually accused of racketeering, corruption, misappropriation and use narcotic drugs, and numerous cases of sexual violence. However, since the witnesses to the entire trial were either killed by Carl or somehow went missing, Frank Tenpenny was acquitted, sparking civil unrest in Los Santos reminiscent of the 1992 Los Angeles Riot.
Right after Carl kills Smoke at the drug shelter, Tenpenny appears with a suitcase containing drug money. He plans to escape the city by plane. He plans to get to the airport by fire truck with the help of some rookie cops who are willing to work his way. Hoping to kill C.J., Frank Tenpenny causes a fire in the drug lab on the floor below and then runs to the fire truck. Sweet, who arrived at the drug shelter with Karl, but remained in the car, jumps onto the ladder of the truck and, dangling his legs in the air, tries in every possible way to catch Frank Tenpenny. After a pursuit through the city, Carl catches Sweet in the passenger seat of his car, and they continue to pursue Tenpenny, shooting back from the pursuing Ballas, Vagos, and cops.
In the final scene, Tenpenny loses control of the fire truck and it falls off a bridge and lands in the middle of Grove Street. Seriously injured, Frank Tenpenny crawls out and calls for help. Realizing that no one will come, he curses everyone, including the police. "Mudcallers! You never understood what I did! Fifty people like me, and everything would be OK with this city! I cleaned up the trash! I did it! - Tenpenny's last words, after which he dies from his injuries. Carl takes out his gun to make sure this is the end. Sweet stops him, saying that there is no need to leave any evidence. "It's just that a cop died in a traffic accident," Sweet says. The radio reports that Tenpenny's corpse has been robbed by homeless people. The riot stopped. Later, Sweet, Caesar, CJ, Kendle go to the Johnson house to take stock of the work done and immediate plans. Officer Jimmy Hernandez- new member of C.R.A.S.H., LSPD officer of Mexican descent. A rookie, and receives little, if any, respect from Tenpenny and Pulaski; he is sent to get meat for their barbecue and is made the object of racial ridicule. Unlike his colleagues, he does not share their corrupt view of how the law should be viewed. They both try to convince Hernandez with their daily work such as finishing off a dying policeman who was a danger to Tenpenny and Pulaski.
In the prequel film The Introduction, Tenpenny scolds him for describing the moral quandary caused by intra-family discord. Hernandez describes her quandary over whether to throw a violent husband in jail, leaving the children with their drug-abusing mother, or to allow the husband to get away with beating his wife. Tenpenny says that if Hernandez can't handle this case, he won't be able to handle the "drug dealers, gangsters and psychopaths" Tenpenny deals with every day. After a lecture about the need to "do what it takes" in maintaining a greater result, Tenpenny orders Hernandez out of the car.
After he finally realizes that things have gone too far, Jimmy decides to report the crimes of the entire C.R.A.S.H. and corruption until the moment he started working with them. In the mission "Hot Afternoon", Pulaski and Tenpenny deal with Hernandez for betraying them. There are, however, humorous instances where he runs into walls, as well as the fact that his men manipulate the results of games with Woozy so that he always wins. For example, Woozy always beats his subordinates at blackjack, despite the fact that he cannot see the cards. One time he plays with Carl, Woozy draws cards until he is finally left with 47, and then accuses Carl of "bringing bad luck" and states that "when he plays with his people, he always wins." Another time, when playing golf, his people move the cup, which acts as a hole, into the path of Woozy's ball and remove it from the path of CJ's ball. Oddly enough, despite his blindness, Vusi is a good shooter. But Vusi is unable to complete a mission that requires swimming, since, by his own admission, all other senses, perfectly trained by him due to loss of vision, become useless under water. But it can swim if during the mission the player takes it into the water.
Although Woozy can become violent and foul-mouthed when angry, he is largely a peaceful and, by the standards of the underworld, an honorable man. He is not corrupted by power and remains a loyal and trustworthy friend, accomplice, and informant to Carl until the end of the game. Ryder is delusional in his magnificence and may have a Napoleon complex due to his short stature. He fancies himself a genius and states that he didn't finish school because he was too intellectual, not because of his involvement in the Grove Street family. In "The Introduction", Smoke becomes close to him, suggesting that he betray the Grove Street family to become involved in the drug trade. After a little convincing, Ryder agrees.
When Carl returns and begins his rise within the Grove Street families, Ryder becomes more and more jealous even though he is already an ally of the Ballas gang. Caesar shows Carl how Big Smoke and Ryder emerge from the garage and talk to the green saber car seen in the murder of Carl's mother leaving the garage. It is implied that Bick Smoke and Ryder were involved, although they may have been brought in later.
Following Carl's betrayal and the rapid fall of the Grove Street family in the city of Los Santos, Ryder assists Smoke in establishing a drug trade with the Loco Syndicate, thus flooding Los Santos with cocaine. He later appears in the city of San Fierro. Ryder, T-Bone Mendez, San Fierro Rifa and the Ballas meet for a deal. After Carl and Caesar and the Triad squad gun down T-Bone on Pier 69, 29-year-old Ryder escapes and races Carl on speedboats, ending in his death. Alternatively, the player can have Carl shoot Ryder from the pier as he tries to swim away and take over the boat.
In a way omen, CJ tells Ryder in one early mission, "One of these days, you'll wish you had killed me." It was later revealed that Ryder tried to rape Kendle.

Jeffrey "O-G Lock" Cross

While working at the Burger Shop, OJ asks CJ to help him develop his music career by stealing some music equipment from a beach party and a book of rhymes from Madd Dogg, a hip-hop star in the city of Los Santos. Locke also had CJ ruin Dogg's career by killing his manager, who Locke believes was using his influence to hinder Locke's career. Soon after, Locke quits his job, deciding that he would rather break his parole and go back to prison than work a job that is "not for a gangsta." However, since CJ's actions caused Dogg to lose his strength and become depressed, Locke is given the opportunity to achieve fame. After Carl is betrayed by his friends and kicked out of Los Santos, Locke becomes a mainstream rapper with the help of his agent, Steam Engine.
Later in the game, after Carl saves Madd Dogg's life and is rewarded with his position as his manager in Las Venturas, the two of them pursue O-G to retrieve Dogg's book of rhymes. After a long pursuit, Carl and Madd Dogg corner Locke, who agrees to quit rapping and leave them alone from then on.
This walking joke- his name "OG Loc" is often mispronounced; radio talk show host Lazlow calls him "Oglok", music DJ Sage talks about "Oge Loke" and his rival Madd Dogg rues the day his number one position was fooled by "G Loco". Madd Dogg (Mad Cupcake)

Mad Cupcake- one of the most famous rappers in Los Santos. Shortly after CJ's arrival in Los Santos Dogg is becoming very popular, having just released his own clothing line, as well as numerous other products. Dogg's career is in decline after CJ steals his book of rhymes and kills his manager to help OJ Lock's music career.
Mad Cupcake experiences a bout of depression, during which he loses his Mulholland mansion to a major drug dealer, the leader of the Los Santos Vagos gang, and skips a concert in Las Venturas to gamble the rest of his money. Contemplating suicide, Madd Dogg appears on the edge of the casino roof, completely drunk, and threatens to jump to his death. With people from the crowd gathered below placing bets on whether he will actually jump (and asking him to take off some of his expensive clothes before doing so), Ceejay saves him at the last minute, catching his falling body in the back of a truck filled with empty cardboard boxes.
Then Karl takes him to the hospital. After leaving, Madd Dogg, grateful, makes Carl his new manager. Carl takes part in restoring Cupcake's career by reclaiming his mansion and restoring his name in the rap industry. CJ and Crazy Cupcake chase Oo-jee Loc to return Cupcake's book of rhymes and force Loc to give up rapping and leave them alone. At the end of the game, the return of Mad Cupcake results in a gold disc.
Mark "B Dap" Wayne
First appears in the story mission video: "Cleaning up the area"
B Dap left the Grove Street gang and is now selling drugs. In the story mission "Neighborhood Cleanup", Carl and Ryder try to call Bi Dap into action, but he aggressively kicks them out of his apartment. B Dap also got former Grove Street gang member Barry Thorne, nicknamed Bear, on drugs, who later became his slave and, for the sake of a new dose, carries out any of B Dap’s orders (mostly cleaning his apartment and cleaning the toilet).
Later in the story mission "The Overthrow of Bi Dap", Sweet and Carl threaten Bi Dap into revealing Big Smoke's location. Mike Toreno

Mike Toreno is an undercover military counterintelligence agent who masquerades as a drug dealer for the Loco syndicate. At first his presence is not entirely appropriate, and the lack of information about him worries Karl. In his first appearance in the game, Mike is kidnapped by the Da Nang gang, who steal one of the syndicate's drug vans with Toreno in the back. But Carl and T-Bone Mendez determine the location of the vehicle using a cell phone and a beacon, and overtake the truck on the San Fierro runway. Toreno loses his temper when he sees Carl's unfamiliar face and threatens to shoot him. Once Mendez calms him down, Toreno orders them all to open fire on the van and destroy it, thus removing the evidence.
After Jizzy B's death, Carl and his partners plan to ambush the syndicate's meeting with the Big Smoke cartel. Karl covers them with a sniper rifle, but Toreno, while in the helicopter, notices the corpses on the roof and cancels his landing. Later, Carl spies a helicopter in another location and shoots it down in the sky; Mike Toreno is presumed dead.
However, Toreno survives the helicopter crash. Shortly thereafter, using a digitally distorted voice, he calls Carl on his cell phone and orders him to come to his isolated ranch in the Tierra Robada region. There, he gives Carl a series of difficult tasks under duress: Toreno suggests that Sweet, who has been in prison for a long time, will be harmed if Carl does not work for him. Mike Toreno promises that if Carl cooperates, Sweet will remain safe and will eventually be released. . Toreno was apparently only supplying cocaine to appease a government ally overseas; he has since left deals and is now focused on working at his home agency (but Karl does all that work).
From a philosophical point of view, Mike Toreno is a very cynical American imperialist and opponent of communism. He primarily uses Karl as a courier, saboteur and assassin. Although he is aware of Tenpenny and Pulaski's dirty dealings as well as their relationship with Carl, Toreno does not use his power to stop them. He tells Carl, “We've got decisions to make, man. You know what, I'm trying to set bad people against other bad people. And sometimes, I let the good guys die." Toreno seems to be driven to commit heinous acts for a greater purpose, much like . Although he seems to be more stable and reasonable than . In one of the videos, Toreno reads the book “CONCPIRANCY THEORY” - a clear allusion to the film of the same name (in the Russian version, “Conspiracy Theory”).
Toreno's missions, which include dropping payloads from aircraft while evading radar detection and shooting down black government helicopters on a plateau, seem nearly impossible to Carl.
During the game, Mike Toreno sends Carl to buy an abandoned airfield, an unused runway, and an airplane graveyard. This object is used to make Carl a pilot. In one of the game's more bizarre missions, a jet carrying containers lands unannounced on the runway and men in black suits and sunglasses step out. Carl is hiding behind some boxes when Toreno appears out of nowhere and instructs him to get inside using a motorcycle and plant a bomb on the plane. When fighting agents on board, they utter strange phrases such as: "Carbon-based clown!" and “You evolved from shrews!”
While Toreno initially views Carl as a street trash and enjoys bringing up Sweet's dire situation, his attitude changes when Carl proves his ability to perform seemingly impossible tasks. He begins to like Karl, using him as a sort of "war buddy" and showing some degree of camaraderie. After Carl becomes the manager of rapper Madd Dogg and doesn't hear from Toreno for a while, the latter interrupts the sound system in Madd Dogg's mansion studio during a recording session and gives Carl one last task. He personally takes Carl to the East Bay in San Fierro to infiltrate an aircraft carrier and steal a fighter jet. Hydra. After he destroys pursuing enemy aircraft and bombs radar ships in the river's tributaries, Carl has had enough and doesn't want to do anything for Toreno; his rage intensified when Mike Toreno abandoned Carl with a hijacked military plane.
However, Toreno later suddenly appears again at Madd Dogg's mansion, and tells Karl that he has one more, but already small task that must be completed. Catalina

Catalina- Caesar's cousin Vialpando, who lives in an isolated house in rural area Fern Ridge ( Fern Ridge). She is almost completely insane, extremely strong, grumpy, and shows strong tendencies towards feminism and man-hating. After CJ finds himself in the rural wilderness, Caesar suggests that he look for Catalina for work.
From CJ's first meeting with Catalina, he doesn't like her. Impatient, offensive, unpleasant and never tolerates wrongdoing. Catalina insists that they work together on a series of robberies in the countryside, raiding several businesses in different villages. During all this, Catalina decides for herself that she is CJ's new girlfriend and threatens to kill him if he does not agree.
At the beginning of the third raid, Catalina has off-screen sex with CJ. CJ expresses disinterest, fear and lack of comfort, but Catalina doesn't care. As a result, CJ is even more aware of how crazy Catalina is, but what she calls his "lack of passion" just makes Catalina want to lash out and run wild. CJ is more interested in making quick money to get back on his feet than pleasing Catalina, although he does try to do that.
However, no matter what CJ says or does, Catalina continues to scold him and call him a loser. In one scene, she threatens to kill anyone who plays with her, especially CJ, simply because she is in a bad mood. She eventually "leaves" CJ and ends up with a new friend, the silent protagonist from Grand Theft Auto III. Catalina and Claude leave together for Liberty City, to meet events from GTA III.
Catalina is a dangerous psychopath: she is homicidal and appears to suffer from persecution delusions, which may be caused by her stepfather. “You were slow and stupid,” she says, “like a big fat son of a bitch who eats chocolate while his father gives his stepdaughter nothing but stale bread!”
After leaving with Claude, Catalina tries and fails to get back to Karl by making calls to his phone. After the last mission of the game, Catalina calls while having sex with Claude and forces CJ to listen to it. He says: “Catalina! You are sick! Go get treatment! She replies: “You too, Karl, you’re jealous!”
There are three fresh graves and a shovel near her house nearby. Apparently these are her former lovers.

The Righteous (The Truth)- an old hippie who first lives in the mountains on the outskirts of San Fierro and owns a farm where he grows marijuana. The Righteous One makes contact with Carl while he is in exile in the hills of San Fierro and tells him to meet him at a roadside motel. When Carl arrives, he finds Tenpenny smoking Righteous Man's marijuana from a bong. The Righteous Man asks Karl for help: to steal a combine harvester from a ranch owned by sectarians.
The Righteous Man provides Tenpenny with free drugs, mistakenly believing that in exchange the corrupt officer will shield him from prosecution. The Righteous Man pays for his misplaced trust when Tenpenny raids his farm. The righteous man is forced to destroy his harvest before the authorities arrive. He gives Carl a flamethrower to burn the plants and an RPG-7 (which he intended to make into a lamp) to shoot down a police helicopter. The Righteous One moves with Karl to San Fierro and introduces him to the couple, who are then hired to work in Karl's garage.
After Carl purchases an abandoned airfield on the outskirts of Las Venturas, the Righteous Man appears unannounced. He somehow knows Mike Toreno's identity and is shocked that Carl is working for him. The Righteous One wants to help Karl rehabilitate himself, this time by stealing secret technology. He takes Karl to a military base (which is not on any map) and leaves him there. Carl must make his way to Site 69 to steal an experimental jetpack known as the "Black Project" from the depths of the complex. The Righteous One returns later, this time instructing Carl to use a jetpack to steal a device in a protective container being transported on a heavily guarded military train. Karl intercepts the train and takes the container, which contains a green, apparently radioactive substance of unknown origin. The Righteous One declares in ecstasy, "They will call it Year Zero of the New Era!" before disappearing again without any explanation.
He later appears at the mansion Mad Dog to see Karl and his partners. He is last seen standing over the corpse of Officer Tenpenny along with the rest of the characters. He will congratulate Karl for having “managed to beat the system, something he himself had been trying to do for 30 years.”
At first glance, the Righteous is an eccentric, a conspiracy theorist obsessed with conspiracy theories. One day, he made Carl park in different spots and wait for a black van to pull out, telling him to “think of a yellow rubber duck” and “picture a pink golf ball.” He also mentions Theory 23. In one of the missions, Righteous claims that John Kennedy is alive and living with his wife in Scotland, and says that the reason Cold War are lizard-headed aliens who control American oil reserves. He has extensive knowledge of conspiracies surrounding the government and foreigners, which makes Carl question his madness.
Righteous has an eco-friendly hippie van called the "Mothership" (a repainted Camper with the number "EREHTTUO"; the number is a right-to-left spelling of "OUTTHERE", which is a pun on the famous slogan "The truth is out there," whose engine is "supported by a macramé hammock" and runs on "15-year-old cooking oil." He is also familiar with many characters from past games, such as Vice City, as well as with and . He frequently smokes marijuana and is involved in the production of LSD, mushrooms, mescaline, PMA and peyote. The latter was the reason why Kent Paul and Macker “saw the inner light, communicated with the Lizard King and woke up in the desert, and the Righteous One ended up in a Japanese bathhouse.”
Interesting fact: during one of the conversations between Carl and the Righteous One, when he asks him to help him escape to San Fierro, he ends the conversation with the exclamation “I don’t know you! Who is this? No need to call here! I'm hanging up!"; this is a reference to the movie Pulp Fiction, where Lance (the drug dealer) says the same thing.
Jizzy B

Jizzy B is the biggest pimp in San Fierro, and has a club called the Pleasure Domes, which is located in an old fortress under the Gant Bridge, in the Battery Point area. It's a place of adult entertainment where Jizzy surrounds himself with prostitutes, whom he abuses. He is one of the members of the Loco syndicate, which produces and supplies drugs to Los Santos. Although he plays a large role in the syndicate's affairs, he is shown arguing with T-Bone Mendez over profits.
Jizzy recruits Carl when he infiltrates the club to see what he can find out about the syndicate. Once Jizzy negotiates a location for a big deal where members of the Loco syndicate and representatives from Big Smoke (including Ryder) are to meet, Carl decides to take out the pimp. Carl catches him at the club, but Jizzy runs away. He is subsequently killed during a car chase in the mission "In Cold Blood" when he fails to escape in his pimpmobile.
Jizzy's name comes from the vulgarism "jizz", a slang term for jizz.
Jizzy voiced Charlie Murphy.
Ken "Rosie" Rosenberg

Ken "Rosie" Rosenberg serves as an intermediary for the Leone, Forelli and Sindacco Mafia families in Las Venturas, where Caligula runs the casino. Very paranoid and insecure, Ken is afraid that one of the families will kill him and blame him on other organizations. Ken's companions are Macker, Kent Paul (who sometimes addresses Ken as "Rosie" in the game), and a parrot named Tony; he also gives CJ several assignments in Las Venturas. After CJ helps him fake his death and leave Las Venturas, he begins working for Madd Dogg, along with Macker and Kent Paul.
Salvatore Leone

Don Salvatore Leone - Don of the Leone family, mafia in Liberty City. After working as an unofficial informant in Vice City("unofficial" in the sense that Tommy Vercetti handled it whenever he wanted information), Kent Paul returned to England. There, he became a music producer extraordinaire, bringing a new English ensemble, the Gurning Chimps (led by Macker), to San Andreas for promotion. Unfortunately, after he and the ensemble travel with the Righteous One into the desert beyond Las Venturas, he is left with only one Macker.
Rescued by CJ, who was sent to find them, Paul heads to Las Venturas to meet his old acquaintance, Ken Rosenberg, or "Rosie" as he calls him (the two met in GTA: Vice City). Paul displeases Salvatore Leone when he dangles both him and Maccher from the window of Caligula's casino. CJ managed to save Paul, Rosenberg and Macker from the clutches of Salvatore, faking their deaths and allowing them to escape from Venturas. Paul later began producing Madd Dogg's records for the label at the request of CJ after Madd Dogg's career returned to normal.
Kent Paul somehow joins the Righteous One, with whom he and Macker tried Peyote in the desert. In general, Kent Paul is a more sullen and tired person than he was 6 years ago and constantly wonders why he bothers with Macker.

Sweet and Big Smoke stopped shopping with Emmett when the gangs split up, but Carl convinced them to start using his services again soon after he returned to town. Guppy is Ran fa Li's second advisor, and a member of the Triad gang, appears in several story missions in San Fierro, next to Ran Fa Li, also helps rob the casino in Las Venturas
Dwayne and Jethro

Dwayne And Jethro- close friends and partners who previously lived in Vice City, where they owned a boating business until it was purchased by Tommy Vercetti. This is referenced when the Righteous One says: "...there are two guys here, I know them - they worked on marine engines until some mafiosi bought their business in Weiss." During their presentation in San Andreas That is, Jethro works at the Xoomer gas station in East Basin, San Fierro, while Dwayne sells hot dogs from a van near the tram depot in the King's area. Johnny Sindacco is a high-ranking member of the Sindacco family, from the mafia, and the son of Paulie Sindacco (the Don from Liberty City Stories who is not named in this game, but is implied to have achieved a noble, high rank in the organization, circa 1992).
Carl Johnson, nicknamed "CJ", is the main character of the game. One of the leaders of the African-American street gang "Grove Street Families" in the city of Los Santos. After the death of his younger brother Brian in 1987, Carl leaves Los Santos and moves to Liberty City. There he works for Joey Leone, the son of Salvatore, boss of the Leone mafia family. In 1992, Carl returns to his hometown in Los Santos after the death of his mother, Beverly. Cj learned about the murder of his mother from his older brother Sweet. In Los Santos, Carl is met by Frank Tenpenny and Eddie Pulaski, a pair of corrupt cops. The officers drive Carl through Ballasamy territory and throw CJ out of the moving police car and promise that they will keep an eye on him.Soon after burying his mothers, Carl discovers that the rest of his family (and former gang, the Grove Street families) are having difficulties with some rivals. Carl finds himself drawn back into the street of gangster life, apparently having once tried to leave it all behind him. Realizing that things won't go as quickly as he expected, Carl travels throughout the state of San Andreas to take control of the streets and save his family.

Shawn "Sweet" Johnson

A sweet, powerful and uncontrollable figure, he leads the Grove Street Gang family with a never-ending list of problems. does not like the fact that his sister Kendle is dating Cesar Vialpando due to his status in Varios Los Aztecas. Sweet will not respect Carl until he has "paid his dues" and makes up for the time he left.Sweet is voiced by Faizon, who has starred in various productions from 1992 to the present. Faizon was born in Santiago de Cuba in 1968.
Melvin "Big Smoke" Harris
Long time family friend and member of the Grove Street family. Big Smoke is very fat and obsessed with money. Currently with the goal of creating a new drug business with the Loco Rider San Fierro Syndicate. Sweet refuses to take part. Kendle believes the new business no doubt financed his new home in Idlewood.Big Smoke, voiced by Clifton Powell. Has appeared in films such as Menace II Society (1993).

Ryder, a "loose cannon", is very passionate about the Grove Street families and one of CJ's oldest friends. Short, skinny, but fierce. Officer Tenpenny is voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role as Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction (1994). Jackson is known for playing violent, loud characters.
Tenpenny's right hand. Pulaski (also a member of the corrupt C.R.A.S.H) has wanted to kill CJ for years, but Tenpenny always finds an excuse to keep him alive. Powerful and ruthless when accompanied by his superior, but we soon discover that he is attacked by a coward. Tenpenny and Pulaski built their own criminal empire, taking out anyone who stood in their way. The pair silenced Officer Ralph Pendelbury after he threatened to turn over state evidence. The death is said to have occurred in a "non-gang related incident." Believed to be involved in racketeering, corruption, drugs and sexual violence.
Officer Pulaski is voiced by Chris Penn, who began acting at age 12 at Loft Studios in Los Angeles. Born in 1962, Penn has a black belt in karate and has appeared in more than 50 different films.

Tattoo from top to bottom - childhood friend CJ in the city of Los Santos. Caesar meets with Kendl, CJ's sister. Cesar is obsessed with stolen cars, and heads the Varios Los Aztecas, a gang that is currently shrinking. A man of honor and integrity who eventually leads Cesar and Carl to become close friends. Fiery. Cesar Vialpando's cousin is the most intimidating female character in the GTA3 series. Catalina lives in an isolated cabin in Fern Ridge, Red County—complete with freshly dug graves in the backyard. Obsessed with robbery. Catalina is in love with Karl, despite her bad attitude towards him. She begins dating Claude Speed, the "snake without a tongue" (commonly known as the GTA3 Guy). The couple prepares to move to Liberty City. Strong, sick, constantly seeking attention.

Wannabe gangsta rapper Jeffrey Martin. No criminal record other than a few unpaid parking tickets, but certainly no threat to the community. Stay away from his music. Speaking of his music, he has only released one album, "Straight from Tha Streetz", which he recorded shortly after returning from prison. While some say he was the worst rapper in history, others say he is a whole new style of hip-hop. Jizzy helps set up trades for Loco Syndicate, but claims his cut is too small. He runs the "Jizzy Pleasure Domes" in Juniper Hollow, San Fierro—a premium destination for adult entertainment (shoving money in other people's panties). Jizzy is one of the biggest pimps and scammers west coast. He is believed to have ties to T-Bone Mendez, Mike Toreno and other drug traffickers. Powerful.The Sperm Giant is voiced by Charlie Murphy, Eddie Murphy's brother. Murphy began his acting career in 1989 when he played Jimmy in "Harlem Nights."
